Rediscovering our Knitting Roots! A New Venue and Workshops.

Rediscovering our Knitting Roots

This week, Paula picked up her needles & knitted a scarf - something she hasn't done in fine gauge for ages! The yarn, a thoughtful gift from her cousin Vikki (who also works at Cocoon&me), came from an Alpaca Farm, making it even more special. Vikki visited Little Orchard in Devon a couple of years ago while on holiday, & the yarn has been tucked away in Paula's stash, waiting for the right moment.

Who else loves working with alpaca yarn? It’s so soft & luxurious!

Before starting Cocoon&me, Paula spent many, many years as a knitwear designer for well-known brands, but these days, we mostly work with chunky yarns. Slowing down with finer stitches has been such a joy, she thinks she's caught the bug again!

We offer bespoke knitting classes tailored to your level, from beginner to intermediate, right here in our cosy Brighton studio. Get in touch with us today - we’d love to help you get started or take your skills to the next level!

Borde Hill Garden: Our New Workshop Venue

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new location for our workshops - Borde Hill Garden, located in West Sussex. Famous for its breath taking gardens & tranquil atmosphere, it offers the perfect backdrop for a day of creativity & inspiration.

Why not join us for our Macramé Plant Hanger Workshop on 13th March? You’ll learn three essential macramé knots: twisted half, square, & wrap, while crafting your very own bespoke plant hanger using chunky recycled cotton & copper trim.

Tickets include refreshments on arrival & access to the stunning gardens, which you’re welcome to explore after the session.

We can’t wait to welcome you to this inspiring venue. Spaces are limited, so book your spot today & enjoy a delightful day of crafting & nature!

Farnham Maltings Workshops

We had the pleasure of returning to one of our favourite venues, Farnham Maltings, to kick off another year of creative workshops!

The attendees made a variety of Arm Knit creations, from medium & small blankets to cosy scarves. Some added stripes for a playful touch, while others opted for tassels to make their pieces truly unique. If you'd love to customise your Arm Knit workshop with these extras, let us know - we love bringing your ideas to life!

We then hosted a beginner-friendly Crochet Storage Basket Workshop, where participants learned the basics of crochet for the very first time. It was a relaxed & chat-filled session, & everyone left with a beautiful handmade basket to be proud of.

As always, it’s a joy to spend time at Farnham Maltings. If you're inspired to join us at one of our upcoming workshops, stay tuned - there’s plenty more to come!
