We are very excited to be one of 500 handpicked Champions of Small Business, to join Holly Tucker M.B.E.’s Campaign for #ColourFriday, as an important alternative to Black Friday.

Cocoon&me stand proud with all independent businesses & ask you, the customer, to vote with your money & support small for this festive season & beyond. Most small businesses, ourselves included, cannot compete with big business. We work with very small margins, so we cannot offer the same large discounts.

Cocoon&me is just two of us - Paula, the creative founder & Vikki, Director of Software & occasional taxi driver!

This means that everything has the personal touch as we do it all, from design concept, creation, photography & video. We write all the content for our kits & then make each kit individually cutting yarn & adding each component to every order.

There is also a lot of work involved in creating our Workshop schedule, making sure we reach as many people as possible with our new workshops & venues & of course our old favourite events!

Mark Shayler, who’s been passionate about sustainability for 32 years recently said, “Small retailers don't sell things; they add colour to people’s lives, not only from what you buy from them but how you are with them. It’s not about selling units, but more to move hearts and minds.”

•    Nearly 60% of UK small businesses fear closure in the coming year³

Meta Team Building

This was such a fun time at Meta's HQ in London. Thank you to Meta for inviting us to their social gathering/team building experience.
Even though these were mainly 'data' people, so they were out of their comfort zone,
55 colourful snuggly blankets were created!

recent Workshops

We had another fantastic weekend of workshops with Arm Knit Blanket & Macramé Shooting Stars at Ropetackle Arts Centre, Shoreham-by-Sea & Pitfield Barn, Hurstpierpoint.  Lots of lovely colourful blankets & sparkly shooting stars were made.
